Orlandina Basket comunica di aver ingaggiato fino a fine stagione il centro statunitense Justin Knox (206 cm, 1989), proveniente dal campionato bulgaro dove in questa stagione ha portato i colori del Lukoil Akademic Sofia e poi del Levski Sofia, disputando anche la FIBA Europe Cup.
Giocatore di buona taglia fisica e ottimo tocco, nella passata stagione ha disputato il campionato di Serie A2 con la Fortitudo Bologna, chiudendo la regular season con 14.4 punti (57% da due, 34% da tre, 82% ai liberi), 7.2 rimbalzi e 16.8 di valutazione in 27.8 minuti. Buoni numeri anche nei playoff, che ha visto i bolognesi protagonisti in 13 gare chiudendo con la sconfitta in semifinale per 3-2 per mano di Trieste (per Knox 11.7 punti, 53% da due, 28% da tre, 77% ai liberi, 7.7 rimbalzi, 15.5 di valutazione in 27.1 minuti).
Knox, nativo di Toscaloosa (Alabama), ha disputato tre stagioni all’università dell’Alabama prima di chiudere la sua carriera al college con i Tar Heels di North Carolina (2010-11), a comporre una notevole batteria di lunghi con Tyler Zeller e John Henson (oggi entrambi nella NBA con i Milwaukee Bucks).
Prima delle sue stagioni in Italia e Bulgaria, il nuovo centro orlandino ha in seguito militato nel Tsmoki-Minsk (vincendo campionato e coppa di Bielorussia), nel Vestelspor Manisa (Turchia), nei Den Helder Kings (Olanda), nei Westport Malaysia Dragons (Malesia) e nei Capitanes de Arecibo (Porto Rico).
Knox raggiungerà i suoi nuovi compagni nella serata di domani.

Orlandina Basket welcome the US center Justin Knox (6’10, class of 1989) until the end of the season. Knox spent the first part of this campaign in Bulgaria, playing in the domestic League and the FIBA Europe Cup wearing Lukoil Akademic Sofia and Levski Sofia’s jerseys.
He combines good size and athleticism with a soft touch, he’s well known in Italy as he played 2016-17 season in Serie A2 with Fortitudo Bologna, averaging 14.4 points (57% on 2pts, 34% on 3pts, 82% on free throws), 7.2 rebounds and a ranking of 16.8 in 27.8 minutes. He also had good numbers in the playoffs, reaching the semifinals with 11.7 points, 53% on 2pts, 28% on 3pts, 77% on free throws, 7.7 rebounds and a ranking of 15.5 in 27.1 minutes in 13 games).
Knox, born in Toscaloosa (Alabama), before his professional career spent three seasons with the college of Alabama before moving to the North Carolina Tar Heels (2010-11), in a strong front court with Tyler Zeller and John Henson (they both play with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA today).
